How to Use Your Own Domain Name

To use your own domain name with StatiCloud, you need to make a CNAME DNS entry from your domain name to our service cname.staticloud.com.

Decide on the name you'd like to use for your site. It's important to give your site name a prefix. For example if your base domain name is myradsite.com, you could give your name the prefix www so your website will be hosted at www.myradsite.com.

Find the control panel on your domain registrar’s website, and locate your DNS (Domain Name System) settings.

Add a CNAME record. Where it says Name, enter the prefix you chose, for example www and list cname.staticloud.com as the Host Name. Finally, enter your custom name in the StatiCloud admin, and your done!

Here are detailed instructions for GoDaddy users:

• Log in to your account at www.godaddy.com.
• Open the Domains tab and select My Domain Names. You'll be directed to the Domain Manager page.
• Click the domain that you'd like to use with your website.
• Click the Total DNS Control And MX Records link at the bottom of the section entitled Total DNS.
• Click Add New CNAME Record in the box labelled CNAMES (aliases).
• For the Name, enter only the subdomain of the address you want to use for your StatiCloud website. For example, if you picked www.myradsite.com as your name, enter www here.
• Enter cname.staticloud.com as the Host Name.
• Click OK, and then click OK again.
• Enter your custom name in the StatiCloud admin, and your done!
